INTERREG project management and support
BDF is an experienced partner for project proposal development and project management of European Commission financed programmes such as INTERREG Europe and INTERREG North Sea Region, but also Erasmus+, Horizon2020, COSME and UrbAct.
We support project leaders and partners in various ways, including proposal writing, financial reporting and communication support.
BDF has supported Harlingen Seaport, the Municipality of Leeuwarden and the European Business Innovation Center Network (EBN) with their activities to get the optimal result from their international projects.

Policy research and evaluation
For various governments BDF has performed evaluation of policy instrument effectiveness and efficiency. Also for the development of future policy measures BDF is a well positioned to research the needs of SMEs and schools to get to know governments could facilitate them the best way.
BDF posesses academic staff to conduct proper scientific research and it has the European network to get involve the right stakeholders for relevant input.

Policy development and implementation
In cooperation with governments, BDF executes policy measures in its region and in Europe. Regional examples include the management of the Inqubator Leeuwarden and the management of the Friesland Development Fund with public and private capital.
Furthermore we support governments to develop new policy measures, for instance the optimalisation of the Municipality of Leeuwarden policy support measures for internationalisation of SMEs via the UpGradeSMEproject.
Internationally, we have gathered 40+ good practice government support measures for SMEs from across Europe. Available for you to use.
